Lions Statues

Lions Statues
I did these pictures in last November. They are at the corner north of Elgin street and Sparks street. They are all around the Canada post office. They look almost the same but if you look closely you can see more different details.

and a lot of fun…

See the images here: http://su.pr/2ak66c

The “Contact Ontarois 2010″ it was an event in Ottawa where you can see a lot of French speaker new talents (singers, players, dancers… etc). I had the opportunity to photograph a very talented people. I was an amazing experience and the organization was perfect. The light show was a dream for a photographer. It was a long time where I can stay at ISO 1250 to 1600 (except for “La Nouvelle Scene” where the light is perfect). My images are sharp and contrasted. See by yourself.

Self Promotion – Part 1

With the new year resolution, I decide to do some new business cards for my marketing plan.
The idea of 4×6 as a business card it’s come from a discussion with Rosh Sillars at his website: New Media Photographer. I already have one as an events photographer in Ottawa but I needed one for the concert photography part of my business. Here is the new 4×6 I am going to give to my future clients every time I am out shooting a concert, a play or show.

What do you think?

All the images have been taken at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Ottawa, Ontario – Canada. I was freelance photographer for each concerts and sold my images at magazine, newspapers or organization after the show.

How important is it to be ready

How important is it to be ready? Very important in my opinion.

You need to be ready all the time as your equipment too. You may get a job when you not expected.call_me
Here is a good example of that:

Last week, it was a quiet day and I was working on my iphone project 365. It was 2.33pm. Suddenly the phone ring: “Hello, could you come over at 3.00pm today? We have an event at this time and we have decided at the last minute that it would be nice to have a professional photographer to take pictures. Are you available?”. Of course, I am. I grab my 6 millions bag, check my camera , my spare batteries, my flash and my CF cards quickly. Everything was in the bag, ready to go. In last than 5 minutes, I was in my car on my way to the event.

I made a good impression to my client, I got paid for it and I got five new contacts.

Conclusion: Be ready, all the time, you never know when someone need your services.

  2. Discover others Photographers work
  3. Learn and study something new
  4. Network with photographers, local artists and others fellows
  5. Read about others photographers
  6. Do something towards marketing and promoting yourself or your photographs
  7. Check your numbers and enjoy the rest of the week
